NBA Finals is over

 Here's a reply to some idiot..Artest MVP game 7

Uh I think you misread the article. Ron had the best game out of all the players tonight...Including Kobe.  The article states that Artest was MVP tonight, not the series.  The Finals MVP is to the player who played the best overall in the series, not just one game.  There is a huge difference between Artest and Kobe. Kobe is a superstar like LBJ and D-Wade.  In order for any team to stop these superstars, they need to have 2-3 people collapsing on them constantly to force turnovers and not allow players to find a shooting rhythm.  Artest is at-best All-star level who cannot individually carry a team consistently (as Seen in Sac).  I think you should re-read what you wrote cause it didn't make a lot of sense.

Anyways, I'm happy to see Ron step up his game tonight after having awful games in Boston.  He is a very nice and courteous guy and I believe his hard work and basketball nature finally paid off.  I hope to see him in Sac this summer eating sushi at his favorite restaurant.  It's nice to see his success even after much of the public shut him out.  As the article says, Artest rose from the ashes tonight.  Give credit to the Celtics.  They put up a lot of fight and showed their toughness.  It's too bad Kendrick Perkins got hurt cause his game could have made a difference in outcome.  Overall it was an awesome even series.  Although I expect the Lakers to be back next year, I am kind of interested to see if D-Wade can get an entourage together to put up a tougher fight.

That was a good game .. Too bad someone had to go home a loser...  As much as I don't care for Kobe, he is extremely talented and skillful.  I thought in the first 3 quarters, the Lakers were going to lose because of Kobe and his forceful self.  But the consistent gameplay of Artest and Gasol helped pull Kobe out to achieve his 2nd Finals MVP.  He deserves to be the MVP in the series.  If the Celts won, it'd be hard to determine whether Rondo or Pierce would have gotten the award.  Both played good 2-3 games, but not an overall 7.  Rondo would've been my choice, but they didn't win.

I think the Celts shot themselves in the foot in the 4th quarter, fouling the Lakers 12 times.  I also think in game 1 or 2, the Celts, they turned the ball over in the last two minutes on unforced errors.  Tonight, the Celtics had everything they needed to achieve the victory.  They were the underdog on the road, and had already upsetted the two best teams, the Magic and Cavaliers. I thought the Lakers, if they were to lose, would because of not enough support from Odom and Artest.  Fisher, Bryant, and Gasol were consistent and strong.. For the Celtics, it seemed like every game had a new leader, which was cool and fine.  But in a game like this, or any one independent game, a leader/super star is needed.  There wasn't the same go to guy in the 4th, when the Celts needed points.

Bryant almost lost it for the team tonight, especially if Artest didn't have the game like he did.  The first 3 quarters, and half of the 4th, Kobe had many forceful shots that could have been avoided if he just passed the ball.  But instead, he tried to amaze the crowd by fading away and shooting airballs and hitting the back board.  Luckily for him , Artest and Gasol kept the Lakers fighting until the 4th, where Bryant consistently steps up his game.

Congrats to the Black Mamba on his 2nd MVP.  Although I am not a huge fan of Kobe, he is what he is.  A great basketball player to watch regardless of any grudge. I was wrong saying Celtics in 6. If I knew the count was 3-2 Celtics, I would've chose the Lakers in 7 because of home court.  Nothing is greater than home court advantage in the Finals.

Happy Father's Day 2010

Papa Doc

I do not believe I have given you a card or a letter ever.. or may be it’s just been a long time. That is my fault! I am sure that when you saw mom’s card you were lightweight jealous .. you don’t have to lie! Just kidding!

I want to apologize for all the bad acts I have done or haven’t done to you and mom. I also want to apologize for all the wrongful deeds you believe to be immoral or disrespectful. I know I act irrational at times and spend lots of money on needless things. I try my best to do what you and mom like for me to do. But I also like to do things you and mom don’t think too fondly of. I know regardless of what it is, you and mom always support me, even though it might give you a heart attack or gray hairs. And I thank you for that. I also thank you for some times taking my side versus mom =] I know you are an openhearted person

I know we have had our rough times with each other due to our similar attitudes and hobbies. When I was younger, it used to bug me when people told me how lucky I was to have you as my dad. I didn’t understand how someone could say that about a person who would lock me in the garage, give me cold showers, and hit me when I was bad. I remember I wrote bad things about you in a paper in the third grade and was later called into the principal’s office. Even though it is funny to laugh about it now, I never realized the burden I put on you and mom. I terribly regret ever doing such a thing. I have now learned that everything you did was to discipline me and teach me the difference between right and wrong. And now, I see many kids my age and younger without the same discipline or control. I wish parents would discipline their children more like you and mom did.

You and Mom complement each other very well. While she has taught me many of my skills such as tidiness, kindness, unselfishness, understanding charm, you have taught me what it takes to make it in society. It’s funny because Mom’s characteristics are what girls like in guys, while your characteristics are the ones needed to make it through society. Although there were plenty of times where the teachings were non-verbal, all of the lessons still got through. You have formed a firm foundation in me, and have taught me the importance of family, respect, loyalty, honor, and humbleness. You have also taught me the importance of education, society and dedication. Might I add, hard work in relations with the sister Seals, “The only easy day was Yesterday.”

In all honesty, you are one remarkable man. You are the financial supportive father that many children dream about. Any dreams for us kids are made possible because of your dedicated hard work in and out of the office. On top of work, you are very interactive throughout the community helping out wherever it is needed. You sacrifice the little free time you have to create more opportunities for college students, high school teenagers, and elementary children. You have helped various groups like the Asian Peace Officer Association, NCCL, CCC and Asian Beauty pageants as a financial advisor, event planner, organizer, and body with helping hands.
When I was younger, I never really understood why you and mom did so much for the community. I also never understood why you would volunteer us kids to do the same. But now I believe with your foundation, I have found a lot of answers regarding life and the community. While in High School, I believed the work forced upon me was to torture me or better my resume for college applications. Not only was it to better the resume, but it also created character, knowledge, and skill for myself.
I have come such a long way since high school graduation when you told me, “If I knew what I knew now, but back then, imagine how smart I would be.” Since then, I have tried to walk similar footsteps as you to achieve success. Like you, I moved away from my favorite hobbies, good friends, and excellent-paying popular job to further my education and learning experiences. I try to read the newspaper daily and watch the stock market as often as I can while studying college material. Your success has driven me to become a better person than I ever saw myself becoming. It has also made me a student of life, always wanting to broaden my education.

Even though these events are recent futures, I often forget about your past. As many stories I have heard from being your son, you were always a hard-working man providing for your toys =] and self. You took care of your friends, your sisters, and your parents. Being self-independent from your parents, you weren’t always wealthy or educated, but later decided that would all change. People like myself, always think and know about your power job and successful wealth as a stockbroker for Morgan Stanley Dean Witter. But what we often forget is your struggles and complications with and without mom. What we most importantly forget, is that you are a United States Marine. Not a driver, foot soldier, or some other lame label corp. job. You are a Marine and Navy Helicopter Fighter Pilot ( I hope one day you’ll take the time to fly again). I find it amazing that you have had two astonishing careers in one life. Anybody could have retired from the service after twenty-two years to work a lazy 9-5 job with no dedication or desire. But you didn’t. Instead, you strived for a job you love.

You are one extraordinary man. You are a man of power, yet very humble and grateful. You know what you can have; yet you restrict yourself so your family and community can have a better lifestyle. You are a handsome, funny, smart, intellectual, and skilled man. I could not label you or your skill in one word or title other then, “The Man.” I believe the Armed Services have a word of your stature. I believe they title them, “ Men of Honor.” Your gracious, community service and donations will forever change the future generations. On part of their behalf, I would like to say thank you. You have always successfully served your family, your friends, your community, and your country. I can’t say enough how awesome you are and how much I look up to you. Whenever anyone says your name, I am proud to say that you are my father. Whenever someone mentions how much we look alike, I am flattered knowing you always say you look good, which you do. Haha

In all reality, I thank you. I will be lucky and grateful if I can be half the man you are. One day, I will pay you back for all your support. You are a sincere man who has out achieved any other person I know. Nobody has the reputation or wrap sheet that you have. Nobody else has the respect I have for you. I thank you for being my father. I would not have asked for anyone else. And even though it came a little late, I am truly lucky to have you as my father. Happy Father’s Day, and Happy Early 39th Birthday.

Education, Finals, and Body

Education is the Key

If I could tell you one thing that will stay with you throughout your entire life regarding success would be education. No matter what age you are, young or old, education will be the one thing that separates you from the rest of the world.

There are two types of education. There is common education, also known as common sense. The simple cause and effect type education. If you do that, what will it result? And if you do this action, what are the consequences? The process of thinking before acting is part of the education.

The second type of education is your overall knowledge of the world. This is divided into many categories. In order to be educated and successful, you must broaden your view on as many topics as you can. The more topics you have knowledge on, the more success you will have. The first start to this success is reading. I remember in elementary school my teachers said reading is power. I never believed it until I realized that most of the information gathered into my mind is revolved around reading. Yes, we can watch documentaries or the news, which will get us the same information. But the terminology and word choice in documents will help us expand our vocabulary and sentence structure, resulting in creative writing we may or may not use in the future.

One topic you must remember regarding education is history. And as boring as it can be, history is the most helpful tool we use to determine the future. We use the history as a reminder of what happens if we do certain actions. The importance of history is so we can skip or pass the wrong actions we might choose again. And if we somehow get to the point where it is repetitive, history will help us through our actions. Knowing that you have been down this path before will help you swallow whatever it is you are facing. History is seen throughout anything in life whether it is regarding a significant, friend, accident, war, family issues, or anything else that comes to mind.

No matter what age, it is never too early to read the paper. Reading the news will give you knowledge on the on-going affairs. It’s good to know how the economy works and how it revolves around real time world events. If you have time, you should look on CNBC, CNN, Fluent News, or even the local paper. These topics in the paper will give you a sense on how the world works. And even though sometimes we don’t feel like we relate with the world, we still make up part of the economy.

The Body is your Vessel From your Brain.
Now I have no background as a trainer or nutritionist, but I believe keeping your body in the best physical shape is the best thing you can do for yourself. It’s okay to eat fatty foods from time to time or drink a couple beers. But when it comes down to it, your body shape will affect you both physically and mentally.
Before it is too late, know that it is always to be in good physical shape. That means run a couple times a month, lift some weights, or run fives now and then. Smoking, drinking, and doing whatever else kind of drugs will hurt you, so leave those no-no’s to minimum. These habitual drugs are very addictive, and although they might be stress-relieving, party-encouraged, or fun, know that in the long run, it’s hurting you. Smoking affects your respiratory system also known as your lungs, meaning you can’t perform at your max potential. Drinking affects your liver, and drinking too much can and will affect your judgment.
Weed, E, or Shrooms, Cocaine, Heroin and whatever else is available are all illegal, so be aware of the outcomes if you are caught doing them or with them. Weed, in my opinion, makes you stupider and lowers your IQ. It’s not proven, but I’ve seen what it’s done to people. I’ve never tried any of the rest of these drugs, so I won’t say anything too bad about them. But just know that if you do these things, make sure you trust the people you’re with, and at least one sober person is available to look after you.
Besides the drugs and alcohol, I hope you make time to keep in shape. Go to the gym now and then to exercise your body. It should make you feel good to know you’re in shape, and if needed, you can outlast anyone in a run. Being in great body shape will give you confidence when it comes to women, and it will also show the rest of the world that you are able to do whatever you want to do physically. It will put you on top of the rest of the OBESE world.

Oh and about the finals, Boston in 6.
